One of Europe's many scenic roads that only bikers and the locals know. The road to the Lienz Dolomites on one side, and the Alps on the other. From Maria Luggau, the road twists like a cool guitar solo from Frank Zappa. Up and down through forests, fields and tiny mountain roads. You pass St. Jakob im Lesachtal, Kötschach-Maut, Hofling, Kirchbach and Kameritsch. The entire route is like a rollercoaster ride. Eventually, everything comes to an end, and so does Road 111 to Villach, unfortunately. At Hermagor, the rollercoaster transforms to a more regular road, but still a beautiful one, and from Hermagor, there are 72 good, full kilometers to Villach, and European Bike Week.
