Metsovo is a beautiful mountain town in Epirus, high in the Pindus mountains of northern Greece, between Ioannina to the north and Meteora to the south. The town is famous for its local cheeses (Metsovone and Metsovela) and winemaking industries, including the Katogi vineyard of the Averoff family. From here, the winding road to Mount Olympus, the home of The Gods, is both spectacular and awe-inspiring. Located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, Mount Olympus is not only the highest mountain in Greece, but also one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.
